Orange is the new

Updated: Mar 18, 2024

As you know from my beauty regimen, I am on a serious mission to clear my complexion from blemishes. I have been using Vitamin C on my skin, but there is really no reason why I shouldn’t ingest it to help aid that process.

Vitamin C helps boost your immune system and is very good at helping the body absorb iron, which I am deficient in. It also helps with collagen production and of course that would make the skin look young which is certainly an excellent thing.

One of my favourite things to juice is Sharon fruit, developed in Israel’s Sharon Valley, is a variety of the persimmon fruit. It is rich in both vitamins A and C. Additional health benefits can be found here.

Vitamin A, like C, also has benefits to the skin. It aids cell growth but additionally helps with the vision due to the retinoids it is rich in. Carrots, another of my ingredients in this juice, are rich in Vitamin A and are antioxidants which are health supporting nutrients.

Oranges are my secret weapon in juices and smoothies because they have a huge amount of vitamin C. They provide a lot of juice and always are a great base.

Ingredients

Instructions

Juice the sharon fruit first before adding the carrots, bell pepper and oranges. I often juice the thickest fruit first so that the thinnest fluids will later on wash the juices from the others directly into my Fusion Booster (when making smoothies) or a jug when making just juice. Add the chopped banana and pea protein, then blitz until smooth. Add ice if you want it colder.

Juicing tips:

  • Sharon fruit juice is pretty thick and very sweet. Make sure you buy firm fruit with no bruising on it otherwise most of the fruit will end up in the pulp container.

  • I place my banana, orange and sharon fruit in the fridge the night before so I get cold juice the next day. All the other ingredients, barring the pea protein, are always in the fridge

Enjoy!
