Kale Crisps

Updated: Mar 19, 2024

I’ve always seen these in Prêt and wondered why I’d buy them when it’s so simple to make. Besides the bag is half full of air and so not at a substantial snack.

I’m currently doing a 7-day candida cleanse and have been very peckish…it’s only Day 3. The cleanse I’m following is the Ultimate Candida Diet by Lisa Richards. This was one of her recipes but I halved the ingredients. I’m hoping this cleanse could help me get healthier and relieve some my joint and muscle pain, as well as the chronic fatigue I’ve been experiencing lately.

I bought a lot of kale last week and I’m already  tired of having it in salad. I didn’t fancy juice either so Kale crisps it was.

Ingredients

  • 100g kale

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1/8 tsp paprika

  • 1/8 tsp sea salt

  • 1/8 tsp cumin (freshly ground)

  • 1/8 tsp cayenne paper

Instructions

Preheat the over to 175°C. Add the oil and all the spices to a bowl and mix. Wash the kale and ensure that the leaves are dried thoroughly. I used some kitchen roll for this. Tear the leaves into bitesized pieces and add kale to the spice mixture. Massage the kale using your hands making sure the spices get all over the leaves. Spread the leaves on a baking tray or greaseproof paper on a baking tray. Ensure that none of the leaves are overlapping and bake for 10 minutes until the edges start to get brown.

That’s it. The perfect snack and healthy too.
