Sugar and I have a never-ending love-hate relationship. I very occasionally eat it but here is one of my main uses for sugar: exfoliation. I’m not a fan of buying things I can simply make at home so I came up with a simple sugar and honey exfoliator scrub for my face and lips. Yes, I exfoliate my lips too. Because of this, I’d rather use something that is totally organic and edible just in case I happen to get some in my mouth.

Exfoliating is important for the removal of dead skin, declogging of pores and for preventing acne. It helps prevent chapped lips and returns your lips to their natural pink colour.
Honey is a humectant and draws moisture into the skin. It is naturally packed full of antioxidants and helps to revitalise the skin.
Olive oil is rich in Vitamin E which is healing, aids anti-ageing and helps to regenerate skin cells.
Sugar contains glycolic acid which is amazing for conditioning skin.
These three ingredients combined provide the best natural exfoliator for my skin.
Ingredients
Organic Honey
Brown sugar (ground a little to reduce grains)
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
(OPTIONAL EXTRA) Lemon
Instructions
I really did not measure anything. I literally ground some of the sugar, added to some honey and added some olive oil until it reached a consistency I liked.
I love this exfoliator but it can sometimes be too thick. To fix that, I sometimes dilute it with a little lemon to help with blackheads or blemishes on my skin.
Try this and let me know how you find it.
